Actually, The Chicago Post is about you, not us.

The Chicago Post aims to provide you, the reader, intelligent, useful, and digestible bits of shrill-free news, observations, and opinion about the policy decisions and policy makers of the City of Chicago, at Cook County, and at the State of Illinois.

Occasionally, we will also cover and comment on the traditional–but shrunken–news media outlets that cover those units of government. The fourth-estate–the watchdogs–at times need a watchdog, too.

The Chicago Post seeks not to compete with the traditional media outlets that cover Springfield, Cook County and Chicago in scope and timing, but this publication wishes to fill gaps, where we can, in their coverage or short-sightedness of their editorials.

When the news is both worth telling, worth lingering over and commenting upon, we will do so. As the weeks and months march forward, The Chicago Post will identify a natural publication rhythm that, we hope, suits both us and you.
